What does a "Blessed Life" look like to you?

Many times as Christians we quote and recite scriptures like, John 10:10, “I came that you might have life and have it more abundantly” or we say things like, “my blessing is on the way”, or “I can’t wait till my change comes”, or even things like “I’m getting ready for my blessing”, or “I’m taking back what the enemy stole from me”, or “the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous.” These sayings and scriptures are great positive thought patterns and affirmations to keep us thinking on the right track that we are Blessed to live a victorious life, but what some people are missing is that they may already be living that “Blessed Life”, that “Abundant life”, or their change may be right in front of their eyes and they may not even know it! They may not know it because they have never really mapped out what their concept of a “Blessed Life” really looks like to them, and the “Blessed Life” they may be waiting on may be someone else’s life and the type of life they really want to live may be right in their reach!

Here’s something to think about; what does your concept of “A Blessed or Abundant Life” really look like? Is a Blessed life to you a house on a hill in Southern California, or is it a small cottage in mid-western Montana? And here’s the pièce de résistance, have you ever written down what your “Blessed Life” looks like to you? The Bible is full of visions and dreams, from Abraham being shown the stars in the sky and grains of sand on the beach to the famous Bible scripture, Habakkuk 2:2, Then the LORD replied: "Write down the vision and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.” In every situation a vision or picture of the blessing is presented before the person. Something is written and shown so that the concept of the dream or vision stays before the person!

It’s no secret that writing down our dreams, blessings and visions is a tried and true catalyst for making them come to fruition! Even the world (those that are unsaved) knows this methodology to be true. Leadership gurus from America to India talk about writing down what you desire for your life so that your focus will constantly be on that thing and subconsciously your actions will be propelled to go in that direction. Well for Christian’s it may not be our own work and effort that gets us to the place of living an “abundant life” or living out that “blessed life”, but there is something in writing down what that life looks like to us. The point for us may be to constantly be in prayer and petition about it to God, and God will allow it to come to pass, but the intention behind it is still the same, The Holy Spirit subconsciously drives us to put action toward those blessings and they do supernaturally come to pass, not because we have done so much, but because we have put our TRUST AND FAITH IN GOD TO GIVE US THE DESIRES OF OUR HEART! This does not mean we don’t work toward it, but it does mean our faith is not in our work or own self-effort, but in THE TIMING, FAITHFULNESS AND GRACE OF GOD!

As for me and my house, as far back as I can remember I have had vision boards and journals in my house. I even had my boys to write down their visions when they were just 9 and 6 and just about a month ago we pulled out those journals at 17 and 14 and talked about them; they haven’t all come to pass, but they are still in the forefront of their minds and hearts and we have no doubt that in God’s timing they will come to pass for their lives!.

So I encourage you today, write down what a “blessed life” looks like to you, what an “abundant life” looks like and have your kids do it for their lives as well! AND PLEASE BE AS SPECIFIC AS YOU DESIRE, GOD ALREADY KNOWS WHAT YOUR DESIRES ARE ANYWAY! THE METHOD OF WRITING THEM DOWN IS NOT FOR HIM, IT’S FOR YOU! NOW BEGIN TO WATCH AS THE GRACE AND LOVE OF GOD BEGINGS TO PROPEL YOUR LIFE TOWARD THOSE BLESSINGS! NEVER FORGET THAT CHRIST CAME TO BRING US TRUTH AND GRACE AND THAT GRACE WAS GIVEN SO THAT WE MIGHT HAVE A SECOND CHANCE AT LIVING THE KIND OF LIFE WE DESIRE and don’t be worried or fooled into thinking about whether what you want as a “blessed life” lines up with God’s plan for you or not, because if you are true Christian and you are seeking Him daily, there is no more missing the mark! According to PSALMS 37:23, THE STEPS OF A RIGHTEOUS MAN ARE ORDERED BY THE LORD AND HE DELIGHTS IN HIS WAY! Are you righteous via your confession of Him as your Lord and Savior; do you delight yourself in the Lord as much as you can; then God delights in you every step of the way!

Forever In His Grace!
